What is a floating license?

Floating licenses are a popular concurrent license model where your license is shared among a number of users and devices. A floating Enterprise license will only be occupied while you’re using Arkio on one of your devices so you can estimate the licenses you will need based on the max number of simultaneous users at any given time.

What if I buy a subscription from an app store?

Arkio Pro as well as the Pro Asset Packs are available for purchase using in-app payments on some devices. If you buy a subscription or an asset pack using in-app payments such purchases can only be used on the device or account you used for the purchase. Cross-buy is available where possible, any purchase on e.g. Meta Quest will also work on the same account on Rift. The benefit of floating Enterprise licenses purchased on arkio.is is that you can install those on as many devices as you want.

How many devices can I install Arkio on?

If you purchase an Enterprise license you can install it on as many devices as you like. However, the number of concurrent Enterprise users will be limited to the number of floating licenses you have purchased. If you purchase a Pro license, you can install the license on up to two devices, but the Pro license can only be used on one device at a time.

Do you offer perpetual licenses?

Arkio is an ambitious new tool that is under constant development and will be improved regularly with new modeling features, integrations with other design tools and support for new devices. Subscription licenses are best aligned with the on-going development of Arkio and will ensure you are always working with the latest version of Arkio.

Do I need to pay VAT/sales tax?

During the checkout process you can enter your local VAT ID to get the VAT reduction automatically deducted from your subscription. You can also get an invoice after the sale for tax administration purposes.

How do I add more floating licenses to my subscription?

You can add more licenses in the subscription management portal accessible here. You will also receive an email when you purchase a license with all the details of your license and a link to manage your order.

How many license keys will I be receiving?

If you purchase Enterprise licenses you will only receive one license key that you can use on all of your devices. This makes distributing Arkio licenses to your colleagues easy as you just need to pass one key around. If you purchase Pro licenses you will receive one license key for each license you purchase.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my subscription?

If you cancel your subscription you will no longer be charged for your next payment term and the licence will automatically expire after that time. We do not offer refunds on subscriptions however. You can contact us if you run into any issues or have questions about adjusting your subscription.

I’ve lost my license key, how do I get it back?

What happens if all my floating licenses are in use?

Arkio will continue to work without an available floating license but will be limited to the features and capabilities of the Starter plan. Please refer to the pricing page for more details on what features are available in the Starter plan.

What are guest editors in meetings?

Users on the Enterprise plan have the right to temporarily assign one of their floating licenses to viewers in meetings. This is done by selecting the pencil edit icon on the meeting panel. Once an Enterprise user revokes the license or a meeting ends the floating license will revert back to the pool of available floating licenses. You can see the available floating licenses in the settings view on the meeting panel.

How can I see how many floating licenses are in use?

If you have a valid license but no floating licenses are currently available you will see a notification on your left bracelet in VR or in the main toolbar on non-VR devices. If you click on this notification you will see the total number of licenses available.

How do AI credits work?

Each AI render uses one credit. When using the AI render feature you can see both your total number of monthly credits as well as the remaining credits in the AI camera UI. The number of included credits vary between Arkio Pro and Enterprise, but in all cases the AI credits renew on a monthly basis. For Arkio Enterprise, AI credits are pooled among all users of Enterprise licenses with the number of credits available based on the total number of floating licenses purchased.

Can I try AI features if I am on the Starter plan?

Yes, the Arkio Pro trial includes 20 AI credits so you can try the AI rendering features.

Can I import files exported using the Archicad, Navisworks, Revit, Rhino or Sketchup plugins if I am on the Starter plan?

No, Arkio Pro or Enterprise is required to import files exported using the Arkio plugins.
