Custom textures in the paint tool/drawer

I want to be able to use my own custom textures (JPG/PNG) directly in the Arkio paint tool/drawer. This is critical for my business, which focuses on facade renovation presentations, as I need to show specific facade materials to clients. Currently, I can only use the built-in materials or import textures via other software like Revit/SketchUp, which is not as efficient for quick presentations in Arkio.

Hi,

I would also love to have more options with the Paint tool.

Just having an RGB/HSV color picker with a transparency value would already help a lot!

Usually, I need to quickly adjust colors while reviewing a project in Mixed Reality.

If I take the Summer Cabin example Examples for Build Beyond 📽️ - Studio / Challenges - Arkio, I’d like to fine-tune the pathway color to perfectly match the trees' wood color.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for sharing your ideas for this feature! We agree that adding custom paint materials to your Arkio paint library would make Arkio more powerful.

What type of materials do you mostly require in your work? Do you, e.g., need custom colors, transparency, and reflections, and do you want to control the size and rotation of the textures, or would a default 1×1 meter texture also work for your use cases?

Other CAD modeling tools, such as Revit/SketchUp, have custom material editors and size-mapping tools, so we recommend using them if advanced materials are needed. Adding a system like that to Arkio would be more complex, but we can identify the minimum requirements to get started with loading custom textures.
